Celia Webster and Steady Feet
What is your business?
At Steady Feet, I run gentle group chair based exercises that are suitable for all ages throughout Liverpool and the Wirral. The exercises are beneficial in keeping flexible, mobile and independent.
Why did you start it?
I wanted to be in control of my own business. I also felt that it was a very worthwhile and rewarding business to be in. I can see the improvements in people’s abilities, each week they become more flexible and stronger. It makes me enjoy my role even more.
What did you do before it?
I have worked in a variety of employment, from Credit Control to Foreign Exchange. I have also been a community worker with visually impaired. I have never worked for myself before but find it very exciting and motivating.
What makes you unique?
I am committed to make this business succeed; I aim to ensure that everyone in the group is included. I endeavour to make the sessions fun and enjoyable. The fees are competitive, I want to give the participants value for money and after a few weeks of attending the sessions they see and feel the benefits.
What are your plans to make the most of Capital of Culture?
I intend to go to as many events as possible I can’t wait for the tall ships coming in and I want to see the outdoor street events as well as some art exhibitions.
Any tips?
Communicate with as many people as possible. Stay focused and seek as much help as needed because help is out there.
